Chapter 151 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes requires approval from the Division of Water prior to any construction or other activity in or along a stream that could in any way obstruct flood flows or adversely impact water quality. Article 16, Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance of the Zoning Regulations requires that prior to the issuance of a zoning compliance permit for any construction or other development within any special flood hazard area, property owners must complete and submit the floodplain construction application along with all required documentation and local floodplain administrator endorsement to the Kentucky Division of Water.
